Manuel Salvador Salgado Amador is a Mexican politician who has served as the Governor of Baja California Sur since 2019. He is a member of the National Action Party (PAN). Salgado Amador was born on 2 March 1954 in Baja California Sur, Mexico. He studied law at the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur and obtained a degree in public administration from the Autonomous University of Mexico. Salgado Amador began his political career in the 1980s, when he was elected to the municipal council of La Paz. He was later elected to the state legislature, where he served from 1991 to 1995. In 1995, he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies, where he served until 2000. In 2000, Salgado Amador was elected to the Senate, where he served until 2006. From 2006 to 2009, he served as the Secretary of Tourism for Baja California Sur. In 2009, he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies, where he served until 2019. In 2019, Salgado Amador was elected Governor of Baja California Sur. He is currently serving his term, which will end in 2024.
