Marcel André was a French actor and singer who was active in the early 20th century. He was born in Paris on 2 January 1885 and died in the same city on 28 April 1966. He began his career as a singer in the cabarets of Montmartre, and later became a successful actor in the theatre and in films. He appeared in over 50 films between 1914 and 1966, including the classic French films Les Enfants du Paradis (1945) and La Ronde (1950). He was also a successful recording artist, releasing over 100 records between 1914 and 1966. He was particularly known for his renditions of popular French songs such as "La Mer" and "La Vie en Rose". Marcel André was married twice, first to the actress Yvonne Printemps and then to the actress and singer Suzy Delair. He had two children, a son and a daughter. At the time of his death in 1966, Marcel André had an estimated net worth of $2 million.
