Margot Wells is a Scottish rugby coach and former athlete. She was born on 10 October 1952 in Scotland. She is the daughter of former Olympic athlete and coach, Geoff Wells. Wells competed in the 400 metres and 800 metres events at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada. She was the first British woman to run the 800 metres in under two minutes. Wells has been a coach since the 1980s, and has coached athletes such as Liz McColgan, Yvonne Murray, and Kelly Holmes. She was the head coach of the British women's team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Wells was awarded an MBE in the 2001 New Year Honours for services to athletics. She was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. As of 2021, Margot Wells's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.

In the early 1990s, she coached rugby players for the club London Scottish. She then took a break from coaching to raise the couple's two children, before returning to coach London Wasps players Danny Cipriani and Thom Evans.
