Margriet Zegers is a Dutch field hockey player who was born on 29 April 1954 in Heerenveen, Netherlands. She is 66 years old. Zegers began playing field hockey at the age of 12 and went on to become one of the most successful players in the history of the sport. She represented the Netherlands in the 1976, 1980, and 1984 Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in 1976 and a gold medal in 1984. She also won the World Cup in 1983 and the European Cup in 1981 and 1983. Zegers was named the Dutch Field Hockey Player of the Year in 1981 and 1983, and was inducted into the International Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 2003. Zegers is married to former Dutch field hockey player Jan Zegers, and they have two children. She currently works as a coach and is the president of the Dutch Field Hockey Association.
