Maria Celeste Arraras is a Puerto Rican journalist, television presenter, producer, and actress. She is best known for her work as a news anchor for the Spanish-language television network Telemundo. She has also hosted the Spanish-language version of the American game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and the Spanish-language version of the American talk show The View. Arraras was born on September 27, 1960 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico, where she earned a degree in communications. She began her career in journalism in 1982, working as a reporter for the Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día. In 1989, Arraras joined Telemundo, where she worked as a news anchor and reporter. She has since become one of the most recognizable faces in Spanish-language television. She has hosted several programs, including the Spanish-language version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and the Spanish-language version of The View. In addition to her work in television, Arraras has also acted in several films and television shows. She has appeared in the films The Lost City and The Cheetah Girls 2, as well as the television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Arraras has won numerous awards for her work in journalism and television, including the Emmy Award for Outstanding News and Documentary Program Achievement in Spanish.
