He is a three-time Olympic medalist, having won two gold medals and one silver medal in the team dressage event at the 1984, 1988, and 1992 Summer Olympics. He is also a two-time World Champion, having won gold medals in the team dressage event at the 1986 and 1990 World Equestrian Games. Marro began riding at the age of seven and competed in his first international event at the age of 18. He has competed in numerous international events throughout his career, including the World Equestrian Games, the European Championships, and the World Cup Finals. Marro is married to fellow equestrian, Ursula Marro, and they have two children. He currently resides in Switzerland and is the president of the Swiss Equestrian Federation.
