He has been hosting the show since 1992. Belling was born in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1978 with a degree in political science. He began his career in radio in 1979 at WKOW in Madison, Wisconsin. He then moved to WTMJ in Milwaukee in 1981, where he worked as a news anchor and reporter. Belling has been hosting The Mark Belling Show since 1992. The show is broadcast on WISN-AM in Milwaukee and is syndicated to other radio stations in Wisconsin. The show focuses on politics, current events, and social issues. Belling is married to his wife, Mary, and they have two children.
