Mark David Nelson is an American actor, best known for his roles in the films The Last Starfighter (1984), The Sure Thing (1985), and The Lost Boys (1987). He has also appeared in television series such as The A-Team, Quantum Leap, and The X-Files. Nelson was born in Geneva, Illinois, and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he studied theater. He began his acting career in the early 1980s, appearing in several television commercials. His first major role was in the 1984 science fiction film The Last Starfighter, in which he played the lead role of Alex Rogan. Nelson has since appeared in numerous films and television series, including The Sure Thing (1985), The Lost Boys (1987), The A-Team (1987–1990), Quantum Leap (1989–1993), and The X-Files (1993–2002). He has also appeared in several stage productions, including the Broadway production of The Elephant Man. Nelson is currently married to actress and producer Jennifer O'Neill, with whom he has two children. He is 62 years old.
