Markku Kiimalainen is a retired professional ice hockey player who played for the Finnish national team and several teams in the Finnish Elite League. He was born on 8 October 1955 in Oulu, Finland. Kiimalainen began his professional career in 1975 with the Oulun Kärpät team in the Finnish Elite League. He played for the team until 1982, when he moved to the Espoo Blues. He played for the Blues until his retirement in 1989. Kiimalainen was a member of the Finnish national team from 1977 to 1989. He won a bronze medal at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. He also won a silver medal at the 1985 World Championships in Prague. Kiimalainen was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. He currently works as a coach for the Espoo Blues.
