Masanori Tokita was a professional footballer who played for the Japanese national team from 1948 to 1954. He was a member of the Japanese team that won the bronze medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. He also played for the Japanese club side, Yomiuri FC, from 1948 to 1956. Tokita was born on 24 June 1925 in Kobe, Hyogo, Empire of Japan. He was the son of a fisherman and grew up in a fishing village. He began playing football at the age of 15 and joined Yomiuri FC in 1948. He was part of the Japanese team that won the bronze medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. Tokita was known for his speed and agility on the pitch. He was also known for his ability to score goals from long range. He was a key player in the Japanese team that won the bronze medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Tokita retired from professional football in 1956 and went on to become a coach. He coached the Japanese national team from 1965 to 1967 and the Japanese club side, Yomiuri FC, from 1967 to 1969. Tokita passed away on 28 April 2021 at the age of 95. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.

In March 1951, Tokita was selected Japan national team for Japan team first game after World War II, 1951 Asian Games. At this competition, on March 7, he debuted against Iran. He also played at 1954 Asian Games. In November 1956, he was selected Japan for 1956 Summer Olympics and he played as captain. He played 12 games and scored 2 goals for Japan until 1959.

Tokita was born in Kobe on June 24, 1925. After graduating from Kwansei Gakuin University, he joined Tanabe Pharmaceutical in 1950. He retired in 1959. He also played for Kwangaku Club was consisted of his alma mater Kwansei Gakuin University players and graduates. He won Emperor's Cup 4 times as member of Kwangaku Club.
