Maurice Foley (politician) is a British politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for West Bromwich East from 1979 to 1997. He was born on 9 October 1925 in the United Kingdom. Foley was educated at St. Joseph's College, Blackpool, and the University of Manchester. He worked as a teacher before entering politics. Foley was first elected to the House of Commons in 1979, representing the Labour Party. He served as a backbench MP until 1997, when he retired from politics. Foley was a strong advocate for the rights of the disabled, and was a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Disability. He was also a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Environment. Foley was married to his wife, Mary, for over 50 years. They had two children together. Foley passed away on 28 April 2021, at the age of 95.
