Max Thomas (bishop) was an Australian Anglican bishop who served as the Bishop of North Queensland from 1975 to 1991. He was born on 23 August 1926 in Australia. Max Thomas (bishop) was educated at the University of Queensland and ordained in 1952. He was a curate at St John's, Toowoomba from 1952 to 1954; and then a curate at St Paul's, Brisbane from 1954 to 1956. He was the Vicar of St Paul's, Brisbane from 1956 to 1962; and then the Archdeacon of Brisbane from 1962 to 1975. Max Thomas (bishop) was consecrated a bishop on 25 April 1975, by Frank Woods, Archbishop of Brisbane, at St John's Cathedral, Brisbane. He served as the Bishop of North Queensland from 1975 to 1991. Max Thomas (bishop) died on 28 April 2021, at the age of 97.
