Michael Hanna (sportsman) was an English cricketer who played for Surrey and England. He was born on 6 June 1926 in Camberwell, London, England. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Hanna made his first-class debut for Surrey in 1947 and went on to play for them until 1962. He also played for England in two Test matches in 1954. He scored a total of 5,845 runs in his first-class career, with a highest score of 166. He also took a total of 545 wickets, with a best bowling of 7/50. Hanna was a popular figure in the Surrey dressing room and was known for his sense of humour. He was also a talented singer and was often heard singing in the dressing room. Hanna retired from cricket in 1962 and went on to become a coach and a cricket commentator. He was also a successful businessman and was involved in the property market. Hanna passed away on 28 April 2021 at the age of 97. He was survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
