Michael Roe is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on October 12, 1954, in Los Angeles, California. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the Christian rock band The 77s. Roe began his musical career in the late 1970s, playing in various bands in the Los Angeles area. In 1981, he formed The 77s with bassist Mark Harmon and drummer Bruce Spencer. The band released their debut album, The 77s, in 1982. The band went on to release several more albums, including All Fall Down (1984), Sticks and Stones (1986), and Pray Naked (1990). Roe has also released several solo albums, including Safe as Milk (1993), Say Your Prayers (1995), and The Boat Ashore (1998). He has also collaborated with other artists, including Steve Taylor, Phil Keaggy, and Derri Daugherty. Roe is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee, where he continues to write and record music. He is married to singer-songwriter Cindy Morgan, and they have two children.
