Michael Solomonov is an Israeli-American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. He is the co-owner and executive chef of Zahav, a modern Israeli restaurant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also the co-owner of several other restaurants in Philadelphia, including Abe Fisher, Dizengoff, Federal Donuts, and Goldie. Solomonov was born in 1978 in Savyon, Israel. He moved to the United States with his family when he was 16 years old. He attended the University of Vermont, where he studied business and hospitality. Solomonov began his career in the restaurant industry in 2001, working as a line cook at the now-closed Marigold Kitchen in Philadelphia. He then worked as a sous chef at Vetri, a high-end Italian restaurant in Philadelphia. In 2008, he opened Zahav with his business partner Steven Cook. Solomonov has won numerous awards for his cooking, including the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic in 2011 and the James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef in 2017. He has also written two cookbooks, Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking and Israeli Soul. As of 2021, Michael Solomonov's net worth is estimated to be approximately $10 million.
