Mii Parima is a Cook Islands politician who has served as the Prime Minister of the Cook Islands since 2019. He was born in Mangaia, the second-largest island in the Cook Islands. He attended the University of the South Pacific in Fiji, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations. Parima began his political career in the Cook Islands in the late 1980s, when he was elected to the House of Ariki. He served as the Minister of Finance from 1989 to 1991, and then as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1991 to 1995. He was elected to the Parliament of the Cook Islands in 1999, and served as the Minister of Finance from 2002 to 2004. Parima was elected Prime Minister of the Cook Islands in 2019, becoming the first Prime Minister from the island of Mangaia. He is a member of the Cook Islands Party, and his government has focused on economic development, education, and health care. As of 2021, Mii Parima's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
