He is the brother of lead singer Chad Kroeger. Kroeger began his career as a bassist in the early 1990s, playing in various bands in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1995, he joined Nickelback, which was then a cover band. He has been with the band ever since, playing on all of their albums and touring extensively. Kroeger has also appeared in a few films, including the 2006 comedy The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. He has also made guest appearances on television shows such as The Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory. Kroeger is married to Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two children.
