Milos Zeman is a Czech politician who has been the President of the Czech Republic since 2013. He was born in Kolín, Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia, and is the oldest of three children. He studied at the University of Economics in Prague, and later at the University of Economics in Bratislava. Zeman has held a number of political positions, including Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from 1998 to 2002. He was also the leader of the Social Democratic Party from 1993 to 2001. Zeman is a controversial figure in Czech politics, and has been criticized for his pro-Russian stance and his opposition to the European Union. He has also been accused of corruption and of having ties to organized crime. In terms of his personal life, Zeman is married to Ivana Zemanová, and they have two children.
