Mirghani Alnasri was an Egyptian Sudanese politician and diplomat who served as the Prime Minister of Sudan from 1965 to 1967. He was born in the village of Al-Fashir in the Darfur region of Sudan. He studied at the University of Khartoum and graduated with a degree in law in 1950. Alnasri was a member of the Sudanese parliament from 1953 to 1965. He was appointed Prime Minister of Sudan in 1965 and served until 1967. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of the country's infrastructure and economy. He also worked to improve relations between Sudan and its neighbors. Alnasri was a strong advocate for the rights of Sudanese women and was a leader in the fight against female genital mutilation. He was also a vocal opponent of the British colonial rule in Sudan. Alnasri died in 2020 at the age of 96. He was survived by his wife, four children, and numerous grandchildren.
