Mohamad Shahrum Osman is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the Pahang constituency of Kuantan since 2008. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and is currently the Deputy Minister of Rural Development. Osman was born on 15 July 1953 in Pahang, Malaysia. He received his early education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Abu Bakar in Kuantan and later attended the University of Malaya, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Osman began his political career in 1982 when he was elected as a member of the Kuantan Municipal Council. He was later appointed as the Deputy Minister of Rural Development in 2008 and has held the position ever since. Osman is married to Datin Hajah Noraini binti Mohd Yusof and they have four children. He is a devout Muslim and is actively involved in various charitable and social activities.
