Nat Boxer was born to a Jewish family in Wawarsing, New York, United States. He attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1947. After graduation, he worked for the United States Navy as an engineer. In the 1950s, Boxer began working for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as an engineer. He was part of the team that developed the Saturn V rocket, which was used to launch the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. He also worked on the development of the Space Shuttle program. Boxer retired from NASA in 1985 and went on to become a professor at the University of Houston. He taught courses in electrical engineering and computer science. He also served as a consultant for various aerospace companies. Boxer is married and has two children. He is 84 years old.
