Navodaya Appachan was an Indian film producer and director who was best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He was born on 6 February 1924 in Alappuzha, Kerala, India. He was the founder of Navodaya Studio, which was one of the largest film production companies in South India. He produced and directed over 50 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. He was also the founder of Navodaya Appachan Productions, which produced some of the most successful films in Malayalam cinema. Navodaya Appachan was a pioneer in the Malayalam film industry and was responsible for introducing many new talents to the industry. He was also instrumental in introducing the concept of dubbing in Malayalam cinema. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992 for his contribution to the film industry. Navodaya Appachan had an estimated net worth of $20 million. He passed away on 28 April 2019 at the age of 95.
