Nazmun Ara Sultana is a Bangladeshi lawyer and judge who was the first female judge of Bangladesh. She was born on 8 July 1950 in Moulvi Bazar District, Bangladesh. She completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Dhaka in 1972 and was called to the Bar in 1973. In 1979, she was appointed as a judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. She was the first female judge of Bangladesh. She served as a judge for more than two decades and retired in 2001. In recognition of her services, she was awarded the Independence Day Award in 2000. She is also a recipient of the Ekushey Padak, the highest civilian award in Bangladesh. Nazmun Ara Sultana is currently 74 years old. She has a net worth of approximately $1 million.
