Norris Bowden is a Canadian figure skater who competed in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. He was born on August 13, 1926 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Bowden began skating at the age of five and was coached by his father, who was a former Canadian champion. He won the Canadian junior men's title in 1945 and the senior men's title in 1947. He also won the 1947 North American Championships and placed fourth at the 1948 World Championships. At the 1948 Winter Olympics, Bowden placed sixth in the men's singles event. He retired from competitive skating after the Olympics and went on to become a coach and choreographer. He coached several Canadian champions, including Donald Jackson, Toller Cranston, and Karen Magnussen. Bowden was inducted into the Canadian Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1988. He is currently retired and lives in Toronto.
