Ofir Katz is an Israeli politician who currently serves as a member of the Knesset for the Likud party. He was born on 19 May, 1980 in Afula, Israel. Katz graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a degree in law and political science. He then went on to serve in the Israel Defense Forces as a paratrooper in the Paratroopers Brigade. Katz began his political career in 2006 when he was elected to the Afula City Council. He was re-elected in 2008 and served as the council's chairman from 2009 to 2013. In 2013, he was elected to the Knesset as a member of the Likud party. Katz is married and has three children. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing basketball and tennis. He is also a fan of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team.
