Olga Sviblova is a Russian curator, film director, and arts administrator. She is the founder and director of the Moscow House of Photography, a museum and cultural center dedicated to photography and visual arts. She is also the founder and director of the Moscow International Biennale of Photography and Visual Arts. Sviblova was born in Moscow in 1953. She graduated from the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts in 1975 and began her career as a film director. She directed several documentaries and feature films, including the award-winning film “The Last Train” (1985). In 1991, Sviblova founded the Moscow House of Photography, a museum and cultural center dedicated to photography and visual arts. She has curated numerous exhibitions and festivals, including the Moscow International Biennale of Photography and Visual Arts, which she founded in 1997. Sviblova has received numerous awards for her work, including the Order of Friendship (Russia, 2006), the Order of Merit for the Fatherland (Russia, 2011), and the Order of Arts and Letters (France, 2012).
