He is best known for his roles as Frank Hardy in the 1970s television series The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries and as Craig Pomeroy in the 1980s television series Baywatch. Stevenson was born Richard Stevenson Parker Jr. on June 4, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Southern California, where he studied film and television production. Stevenson began his acting career in the early 1970s, appearing in guest roles on television series such as The Mod Squad and The Partridge Family. In 1977, he was cast as Frank Hardy in the television series The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. He starred in the series until 1979. In 1989, Stevenson was cast as Craig Pomeroy in the television series Baywatch. He starred in the series until 1992. In addition to acting, Stevenson has also directed several television episodes, including episodes of Baywatch and Melrose Place.
