Pat Halcox is a British jazz trumpeter who has been playing professionally since the 1950s. He is best known for his long association with the Chris Barber Jazz Band, which he joined in 1954 and remained with until his retirement in 2008. He was born on 18 March 1930 in Chelsea, London, and began playing the trumpet at the age of 14. Halcox's career began in the 1950s when he joined the Chris Barber Jazz Band. He remained with the band for 54 years, playing on over 200 albums and touring extensively throughout Europe and the United States. He was also a member of the Ken Colyer Jazzmen, the Alex Welsh Band, and the Humphrey Lyttelton Band. Halcox has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the British Jazz Award for Best Trumpeter in 2000, the British Jazz Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2004, and the British Jazz Award for Best Trumpeter in 2006. He was also awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2008. As of 2021, Pat Halcox's net worth is estimated to be roughly $1 million.
