Peter Andersson is a retired Swedish ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers, Hartford Whalers, and Pittsburgh Penguins. He was born on February 12, 1953, in Örebro, Sweden. Andersson began his professional career in the Swedish Elite League in 1972, playing for Örebro IK. He was drafted by the New York Rangers in the fourth round of the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Rangers in the 1976–77 season and played with them until the 1981–82 season. He then played for the Hartford Whalers from 1982 to 1984 and the Pittsburgh Penguins from 1984 to 1986. In his NHL career, Andersson played in 441 games, scoring 33 goals and adding 97 assists. He also represented Sweden in the 1976 Canada Cup and the 1984 Canada Cup. After retiring from the NHL, Andersson returned to Sweden and played for Örebro IK until his retirement in 1989. He then became a coach for the team, and later served as the team's general manager. As of 2021, Peter Andersson's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
