Peter Del Vecho is an American film producer best known for producing the Academy Award-winning animated films Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019). He has also produced the live-action films The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008). Del Vecho was born on April 6, 1958 in Quincy, Massachusetts. He graduated from Emerson College in 1980 with a degree in film and television production. Del Vecho began his career in the entertainment industry in the 1980s, working as a production assistant on the television series The Cosby Show. He then worked as a production manager on the television series The Golden Girls and Empty Nest. In the 1990s, Del Vecho worked as a production executive at Walt Disney Feature Animation, where he was involved in the production of films such as The Lion King (1994), Pocahontas (1995), and Mulan (1998). In 2003, Del Vecho was named the head of production at Walt Disney Feature Animation, where he oversaw the production of films such as Chicken Little (2005), Meet the Robinsons (2007), and Bolt (2008). In 2009, Del Vecho was named the president of Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he oversaw the production of films such as Tangled (2010), Wreck-It Ralph (2012), and Frozen (2013). In 2019, Del Vecho was named the chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he is responsible for overseeing the creative direction of the studio's films. Del Vecho has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature Film for Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019). He has also won two Annie Awards for Best Animated Feature for Frozen (2013) and Frozen II (2019).
