Peter King is an Australian musician, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his work with the band Cold Chisel, which he co-founded in 1973. He has also released several solo albums and collaborated with other artists. King was born in Bingara, New South Wales, Australia. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and formed his first band, The Joy Boys, at the age of 15. He later joined the band Cold Chisel, which he co-founded with Ian Moss, Don Walker, and Steve Prestwich. The band released their debut album, Cold Chisel, in 1978 and went on to become one of the most successful bands in Australia. King has released several solo albums, including The Way I See It (1985), The Works (1989), and The Best of Peter King (1995). He has also collaborated with other artists, including Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, and John Farnham. King has been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and has won several awards, including the APRA Award for Songwriter of the Year in 1985 and the ARIA Award for Best Male Artist in 1989. He is currently working on a new solo album.
