Peter Langdal is a Danish theatre director and actor. He was born on 24 March 1957 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is best known for his work as a director of the Royal Danish Theatre, where he has been the artistic director since 2002. Langdal studied at the Danish National School of Theatre from 1976 to 1980. He then worked as an actor at the Royal Danish Theatre from 1980 to 1985. In 1985, he became the artistic director of the Aarhus Theatre, where he worked until 2002. In 2002, Langdal was appointed artistic director of the Royal Danish Theatre, a position he still holds today. He has directed numerous plays and operas, including works by Shakespeare, Ibsen, and Strindberg. He has also directed several musicals, including the musical version of The Little Mermaid. Langdal has won numerous awards for his work, including the Danish Theatre Critics' Award in 2002 and the Danish Theatre Award in 2003. He was also awarded the Order of the Dannebrog in 2004.
