Peter Reckell is an American actor best known for his role as Bo Brady on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives, which he played from 1983 to 1987 and again from 1990 to 2015. He has also appeared in several films and television series, including Knots Landing, The Young and the Restless, and As the World Turns. Reckell was born on May 7, 1955 in Elkhart, Indiana. He attended the University of Michigan, where he studied acting. He made his television debut in 1981 on the soap opera As the World Turns. He then went on to appear in the primetime soap opera Knots Landing from 1982 to 1983. In 1983, Reckell joined the cast of Days of Our Lives as Bo Brady, a role he would play for over 30 years. He left the show in 1987, but returned in 1990 and stayed until 2015. During his time on the show, he won two Soap Opera Digest Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Reckell has also appeared in several films, including The House on Sorority Row (1983), The Initiation (1984), and The Stepfather (1987).
