Peter Thomas (composer) is a German composer and conductor who has composed music for over 200 films and television series. He was born on 1 December 1925 in Breslau, Silesia, Weimar Germany. Thomas studied music at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He began his career as a composer in the 1950s, writing music for films such as The Last Bridge (1954) and The Bridge in the Jungle (1955). In the 1960s, Thomas composed music for a number of popular television series, including Perry Mason, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and The Avengers. He also wrote the theme music for the popular German television series Derrick. In the 1970s, Thomas composed music for a number of films, including The Towering Inferno (1974), The Omen (1976), and The Boys from Brazil (1978). He also wrote the theme music for the popular German television series Derrick. Thomas has won numerous awards for his work, including the German Film Award for Best Music in a Feature Film for The Omen (1976) and the German Film Award for Best Music in a Television Series for Derrick (1974).
