Apagya studied photography at the Ghana Institute of Journalism in Accra. He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ghana, Europe, and the United States. His work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Wall Street Journal. Apagya is the founder of the photography collective, the Apagya Photo Group, which is dedicated to the promotion of photography in Ghana. He is also the founder of the Apagya Photo Foundation, which provides photography training and equipment to young photographers in Ghana. Apagya has received numerous awards for his work, including the Ghana National Arts Council Award for Photography in 2006 and the Ghana National Arts Council Award for Photography in 2008.
