Phyllis Florence Young is a former American politician who served as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1973 to 1983. She was born on April 5, 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Young attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1947. She then attended the University of Minnesota Law School, where she earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1950. Young was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1972, representing District 59A. She served in the House until 1983. During her time in the House, she served on the Education, Health and Human Services, and Rules and Legislative Administration committees. Young was a member of the Minnesota Women's Political Caucus and the National Organization for Women. She was also a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Young is currently retired and living in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
