Pierre-Christian Taittinger is a French politician and businessman who was born on 5 February 1926 in Paris, France. He is the son of Pierre Taittinger, a former mayor of Reims and a member of the French Resistance during World War II. He attended the Lycée Janson de Sailly in Paris and then studied law at the University of Paris. After graduating, he joined the family business, Taittinger Champagne, and eventually became its president in 1971. In addition to his business career, Taittinger has also been active in politics. He was a member of the French National Assembly from 1978 to 1981 and was a member of the European Parliament from 1984 to 1989. He also served as the mayor of Reims from 1983 to 1995. Taittinger is currently the president of the Taittinger Group, which includes the champagne house, a hotel, and a real estate company. He is estimated to have a net worth of $1.2 billion.
