He has produced numerous films and television series, including the Academy Award-winning film The Great Beauty, the Academy Award-nominated film The Best Offer, and the television series Gomorrah. Valsecchi was born on 14 June 1953 in Crema, Italy. He studied at the University of Milan, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. Valsecchi began his career in the film industry in the late 1970s, working as a production assistant on various films. In 1994, he founded the production company Cattleya, which has since produced numerous films and television series. Valsecchi has produced several award-winning films, including The Great Beauty, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2014, and The Best Offer, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2013. He has also produced the television series Gomorrah, which has been nominated for numerous awards, including the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in 2016.
