He was born in Kikinda, Serbia, and began his professional career in 1979 with the Yugoslavian team Partizan Belgrade. He played for Partizan until 1988, when he moved to the Italian team Virtus Bologna. He played for Virtus until 1992, when he returned to Partizan. He retired from playing in 1995. Bogosavljev has also had a successful coaching career. He was the head coach of Partizan Belgrade from 1995 to 1997, and then coached the Italian team Virtus Bologna from 1997 to 2000. He was also the head coach of the Serbian national team from 2001 to 2003. Bogosavljev is currently 65 years old. He has a height of 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m). He is married and has two children.
