At his birth he became and is still second in line to the throne of the United Kingdom, after his father. His early life was spent living in London in Kensington Palace. When he was four and a half he started nursery school at the Mrs. Maynard Acadamy. Aged eight, he went to Wetherby School, then to a boarding school called Ludgrove which is about 25 miles from London. When he was 10 his parents separated and they divorced when he was 14. Aged 13, he started at Eton College, an all boys school near Windsor, in Berkshire, and close to Windsor Castle, the home of his grandmother.
