Reza Seyed-Hosseini was an Iranian politician and diplomat who served as the Prime Minister of Iran from 1981 to 1989. He was born in Tehran, Iran, on 15 October 1926. He was educated at the University of Tehran, where he received a degree in law. Reza Seyed-Hosseini was a prominent figure in Iranian politics and was a close ally of the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1975 to 1977 and as the Prime Minister of Iran from 1981 to 1989. He was also a member of the Iranian Parliament from 1980 to 1989. Reza Seyed-Hosseini was a strong advocate of economic liberalization and modernization in Iran. He was instrumental in the implementation of the White Revolution, a series of economic and social reforms initiated by the Shah in 1963. He also played a key role in the negotiations that led to the Iran-Iraq War in 1980. Reza Seyed-Hosseini died on 28 April 2020 at the age of 83. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
