Richard Bausch is an American novelist and short story writer. He was born on April 18, 1945 in Fort Benning, Georgia. He is 76 years old. Bausch attended the University of Tennessee, where he earned a B.A. in English in 1967. He then went on to earn an M.A. in Creative Writing from George Mason University in 1975. Bausch has written numerous novels and short stories, including Peace (2008), Before, During, After (2015), and Something is Out There (2018). He has also written several plays, including The Firebugs (1985) and The Last Good Time (1995). Bausch has won numerous awards for his writing, including the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction for his novel, In the Night Season (2004). He has also been a finalist for the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. Bausch is currently married to his wife, Mary Ann Bausch. They have two children together.
