Richard Crossman was a British Labour Party politician, writer, and diarist. He was educated at Winchester College and New College, Oxford, and served in the Royal Artillery during World War II. He was elected to the House of Commons in 1945, and served as a minister in the Attlee government. He was a prolific writer, and his diaries, published posthumously, provide an insight into the workings of the Labour government. He died in 1974. Crossman was a prolific writer, and his works include The God That Failed (1949), The Crossman Confessions (1954), and The Diaries of a Cabinet Minister (1975-1977). He also wrote several books on politics, including The Politics of Power (1962) and The Politics of Hope (1966). He was a strong advocate of social reform, and his writings often reflected his commitment to the Labour Party and its ideals.
