Rick Davies is an English musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the co-founder and lead singer of the rock band Supertramp. He was born on 22 July 1944 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England. He began playing the piano at the age of five and later learned to play the guitar and drums. He formed Supertramp in 1969 and the band released their first album in 1970. The band achieved international success with their 1979 album Breakfast in America, which sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Davies has also released several solo albums, including his debut, Rick Davies (1980), and his most recent, One More Time (2015). He has also composed music for films, including the score for the 1982 film The Mission. Davies has been married twice and has two children. He currently resides in London, England.
