He is best known for his work with the band The Cars, for which he wrote and co-wrote several songs. Rob Wright began his career as a session musician, playing guitar and keyboards for various artists. He then joined the band The Cars in 1978, and co-wrote several of their songs, including "Just What I Needed," "Let's Go," and "You Might Think." He also co-wrote the hit single "Drive" with Ric Ocasek. Rob Wright has also worked as a producer, working with artists such as The Bangles, The Go-Go's, and The Replacements. He has also released several solo albums, including "Rob Wright" (1985), "Rob Wright and the Wrongs" (1987), and "Rob Wright and the Wrongs Again" (1989). Rob Wright has been married twice, first to singer-songwriter Diane Izzo, and then to singer-songwriter and actress Susanna Hoffs. He has two children from his first marriage.
