Robert Barr was a Scottish-born writer and script department worker who was best known for his work on the television series Doctor Who. He was born on 22 December 1909 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK. He was educated at the University of Glasgow and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Barr began his career as a scriptwriter for the BBC in the 1950s, writing for such series as The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Buccaneers, and The Adventures of Sir Lancelot. He also wrote for the Doctor Who series, contributing to the stories "The Daleks' Master Plan" and "The War Games". Barr was also a script editor for the BBC, working on such series as The Avengers, The Saint, and The Champions. He also worked as a script supervisor on the Doctor Who series. Barr died on 28 April, 1988 in London, England, UK. He was 78 years old.
