He was born on 25 March, 1925 in Bloomington, Indiana, U.S. Higgins began weightlifting in 1941 and was a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 1948. He won the U.S. National Weightlifting Championships in 1947 and 1948. He also won the Pan American Games in 1951. Higgins was inducted into the USA Weightlifting Hall of Fame in 2000. He is also a member of the Indiana Sports Hall of Fame. As of 2021, Robert Higgins (weightlifter) is 73 years old and has a net worth of $1 million.
