Robert Hugill is a British composer, conductor, and musicologist. He was born in 1955 in London, England. He studied at the Royal College of Music and the University of Cambridge, and has held posts at the University of York, the University of Oxford, and the Royal Academy of Music. He is best known for his choral works, which have been performed by many of the world's leading choirs, including the BBC Singers, the Choir of King's College, Cambridge, and the Choir of St. John's College, Cambridge. He has also written several operas, including The Burning Fiery Furnace, which was premiered at the Royal Opera House in London in 2006. Hugill is the author of several books on music, including The Oxford History of English Music and The Oxford Companion to Music. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music. As of 2021, Robert Hugill's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.

Three pieces from the Book of Common Prayer for viola and piano was premiered by Rosalind Ventris (viola) and James Willshire (piano) at Cheltenham Cheltenham Contemporary Concerts in Dean Close School, Cheltenham on 11 Feb 2018.
