Robert Kranjec is a Slovenian ski jumper who has been competing since 1998. He is the first Slovenian to win an individual gold medal at the Winter Olympics, which he achieved in the normal hill event at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He also won a bronze medal in the team large hill event at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Kranjec has won two individual World Cup titles, in the normal hill in 2002 and in the large hill in 2004. He has also won two team World Cup titles, in the large hill in 2004 and in the normal hill in 2005. He has won a total of nine individual World Cup events and four team World Cup events. Kranjec is married to Slovenian ski jumper Maja Vtič and they have two children. He is currently the president of the Slovenian Ski Jumping Association.
