Robert Wright Campbell was an American novelist and short story writer. He was born on June 8, 1927 in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Rutgers University and graduated in 1949. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He began writing science fiction in the 1950s and published his first novel, The Tower of Glass, in 1970. He went on to write several more novels, including The Armageddon Blues, The Last Castle, and The Star Conquerors. He also wrote numerous short stories, many of which were published in science fiction magazines. Campbell was a three-time winner of the Nebula Award, and he was also nominated for the Hugo Award. He was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 1998. At the time of his death in 1987, Campbell was 73 years old. He had an estimated net worth of $1 million.
